I became interested in genealogy when my husband gave me a genealogy program for Christmas 2000. I typed in my great grandmother's name (Jadwiga Tabor, if you're interested) and was hooked. In the 20 years I've been researching my husband's family and my own I've found cousins I didn't even know I had and reconnected with some that I'd lost touch with. I began blogging through a Blogger site in 2010 and am slowly moving those posts over to their new home. The first year of my blog I was delighted to have been named on of Family Tree Magazine's Best Genealogy Blogs of 2011 (new blog category).

I'm an Army veteran and former intel professional. The mother of two sons and wife to another veteran and all-around amazing man. I used my post-9/11 GI Bill to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Commercial Photography. During that time my genealogy and blog fell off my radar, but never out of my mind. Now I'm back and I'm working toward merging my passion for photography with genealogy. My professional photography site www.CherylCayemberg.com and my blog are separate, but will often reference and link each other. Here I will share my family stories as well as some tips and tricks I've discovered. On my photography site I will be offering photo restoration and digital preservation services.
