Another Barrett Tragedy

Not just a Barrett but it includes a Barrett. John "Jack" Dudeck married June Barrett, the daughter of William and Eleanor Barrett nee Barcheski. They died in a boating accident in Canada. He was 41 and she was 42.

Something to note is that this article which was published on September 1st in the Bloomsburg Press Enterprise says that June's body was recovered and that she drowned on August 30th. This is important because some people were reporting on their family trees that they died on September 2nd. The Standard Speaker from Hazleton, PA published their obituary on Tuesday, September 6th which is almost the same as the one posted below by the Press Enterprise with one big difference. It said that they died "last Friday" which would have been September 2nd.

The Find A Grave memorials listed the September 2nd date for their death. I've submitted a correction and posted the obituary from the Press Enterprise.

One could argue that the obituary in the Press Enterprise is wrong. I mean either, or even both, could be wrong, but the September 1st article (above) kind of rules out that they died the following day.

Jack's body wasn't recovered until the morning of September 4th. Just a tragedy all around. As for the Barrett tragedy part, June's grandparents both died at the age of 33 although in different years. Her father died at 52. She's dead at 42. I hope that nothing but happiness comes after such sadness.
